Customizing your itinerary with our city packages means you can travel any time you like. If you opt to take one of our Tour Packages you may have to schedule your departure on a certain day of the week to coordinate with certain flights; please refer to each tour for details.
By their very nature, most of the ecological and adventure programs are escorted by
special guides.
However, the majority of our programs-- both City Packages and Tour Series-- are
"Hosted". This means in each city you visit, a guide meets you at the airport, assists
you at hotel check-in, gives you a tour of the city and is always available to help you
during your time in that city. This way, independence and flexibility, but also have a
"friend" in each city. And by the way, our guides are one of the best assets; a warm,
caring guide can make all the difference on a trip, and we are proud to say that
ours are among the best...letters from our clients prove it.
Any time. The weather is always warm, although there are variations in temperature and rainfall by region during different seasons (consult us for details). A lot depends on your interests, itinerary, tastes, and schedule.
A tough question, because it again depends on your tastes and budget. However, we have initiated a "Best Bets" award program, indicating our recommendations for the "best" options in each city, based on price, value and style.
Our city packages don't since your ultimate airfare will depend on the final itinerary you choose. Once you have filled out our "Trip Planning Sheet", we'll quote you the lowest discounted fare for your trip. On the other hand, our Tour Series programs already include specially negotiated airfares and represent an excellent value.
Curious, discerning travelers of all ages and backgrounds! You will see from our client testimonials that are passengers are looking for interesting experiences, value, security and fun. And these are exactly the qualities our programs offer. Brazil and Brazil Nuts provide something for everyone.
We have contracts with all the major carriers to Brazil, and when quoting your itinerary we will use the routing and carrier that offers the bet combination of good schedule and low fare. If you have a preference, please be sure to let us know.
Unfortunately and incredibly, the Brazilian government does not have a tourist office operating in the US or in many other countries. Fortunately, there are other sources. Without a doubt the best source of information on travel in Brazil are the guide books "Frommer's Guide To Brazil" and "Frommer's Guide to the Amazon", both written by self-proclaimed "brazil nut" Alexandra DeVries. Her sympathetic and insightful views into the Brazilian character are required reading for those who want to get the most out of their trips to this fascinating land. And better yet, she covers - in details - all the ins and outs you need to get around, dine and enjoy yourself in Brazil. Her reviews of the hotels, resorts and jungle lodges are invaluable as well.
If you absolutely sure you want a specific tour, then by all means go ahead and purchase in advance. It will not cost you any more to do so. And a great advantage is that we have the best chance to book the very special guides we work with (they are excellent and very much in demand -- see our section on "People to Meet" to learn more about them!) However, if you are in doubt, you can wait until arrival in a city to book. In any case, the local guides who meet you at the airports during your travel through Brazil (assuming you order airport transfers from us) are happy to orient you upon arrival in each city and discuss the tours and other options (not to mention restaurant, club and show recommendations).
